~ Honoring the BEST in Malaysia 's Telecommunications Industry ~

Kuala Lumpur , March 10, 2005 -- Frost & Sullivan today announced that it will be hosting its inaugural Frost & Sullivan Malaysia Telecoms Awards 2005. To be held for the first time ever in Malaysia , the Awards seek to recognize outstanding performance and industry achievements by companies in Malaysia in the field of telecommunications.

“Frost & Sullivan believes that players in the Malaysian Telecommunications industry have the potential to be world-class companies and compete with leaders in the global marketplace. Therefore, the Frost & Sullivan Malaysia Telecoms Awards 2005 is an excellent platform to showcase what players in Malaysia's Telecommunications industry have to offer the world,” said Manoj Menon, Partner at Frost & Sullivan.

The Frost & Sullivan Awards, globally recognized as an equitable award, are presented to companies that demonstrate best practices in their industry, commending the diligence, commitment, and innovative business strategies required to advance in the global marketplace. Last year, Frost & Sullivan introduced the Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific Technology Awards to recognize outstanding companies and individuals in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) industry across the region. This year, in addition to the Asia Pacific Technology Awards, Frost & Sullivan is taking it a step further by introducing the first ever country specific awards, and Malaysia has been selected as the ideal location to host this.

Adds Menon, “We believe that a country specific award such as the Frost & Sullivan Malaysia Telecoms Awards will be well received by local and international players due to our unique position as an impartial observer. We will be employing the same stringent measurement standards that have been the hallmark of Frost & Sullivan globally in evaluating nominees. Thus, the recipient of a Frost & Sullivan Award would be the crème-de-la-crème among its peers.”

Based in Kuala Lumpur , Malaysia , 20 highly qualified analysts and consultants from the Frost & Sullivan Technology Practice team will be involved in short listing and evaluating nominees to vie for 16 award categories. The evaluation methodology would follow the same thorough approach employed in Frost & Sullivan's research and consulting projects.
